Lem-uhn is a B Corp certified PR Agency. Since launching in 2021, we have been operating to the highest standards of ethical business. In 2025, we were proud to be officially certified as a B Corp. Whether you’ve never heard of a B Corp or are an expert, this article will be a guide to B Corps and how we achieved the accolade.
What is a B Corp?
Certified B Corporations, or B Corps, are companies verified by B Lab to meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. By harnessing the power of business, B Corps commit to prioritise purpose alongside profit and positively impact all stakeholders – workers, communities, customers, and our planet.
B Corps commit to rigorous standards that measure their social and environmental footprint. This certification is not just about good intentions, it’s about verified action and results.
Out of the 5.5 million companies in the UK, only 2300 are B Corps, and only a select few PR agencies have received the accreditation.
B Corp Requirements
To achieve B Corp certification, a company must:
Meet a high standard of social and environmental performance: Businesses undergo a rigorous assessment covering governance, worker rights, community impact, and environmental responsibility.
Be legally accountable: B Corps must legally commit to considering the impact of their decisions on all stakeholders, not just shareholders.
Exhibit transparency: Companies must publish an annual impact report detailing their progress and performance in achieving their sustainability and social goals.
Score at least 80 out of 200 on the B Impact Assessment: This detailed evaluation measures the company’s impact on workers, customers, the community, and the environment.
Why Should We Buy from B Corps?
Consumers have immense power to shape the world through their purchasing choices. Here’s why supporting B Corps makes a difference:
Ethical and Sustainable Practices: B Corps commit to reducing environmental harm, using fair labour practices, and giving back to communities.
Higher Quality and Transparency: With strict accountability measures in place, B Corps prioritise producing high-quality, ethically made products.
Support for Social Change: Every purchase supports businesses that reinvest in positive change, from fair wages to environmental conservation.
Trust and Credibility: B Corps undergo continuous reassessments, ensuring they maintain their ethical and sustainable standards over time.
Why Should We Work for B Corp Brands?
If you want to work for a company that aligns with your values, B Corps offer a compelling option:
Purpose-Driven Culture: Employees at B Corps find meaning in their work, knowing their efforts contribute to societal good.
Fair Wages and Inclusive Workplaces: B Corps prioritise fair pay, diversity, and employee well-being.
Career Growth and Employee Satisfaction: Studies show that employees in purpose-driven companies experience higher job satisfaction and engagement.
Commitment to Work-Life Balance: Many B Corps emphasise flexible working conditions and employee wellness programs.
Why Lem-uhn Became B Corp Accredited
Lem-uhn was launched in May 2021 as a direct result of its founder, Riannon, experiencing first-hand the negative impact of the PR industry. An incredible 91% of PR professionals experience mental health struggles annually. Not only is the industry negatively impacting its people, but it is also impacting the planet. 590 PR and advertising agencies work for the fossil fuel industry. Countless more partner with brands damaging people, the planet and our future.
At Lem-uhn, we work exclusively with purpose-driven brands that are building a better world. We believe business should be a force for good and have several policies to create a happier workplace, including Menstrual Leave, a Work From Anywhere Policy, Wellness Days, and Flexible Fridays.
Becoming a B Corp was a natural step to certify our positive work culture and practices. By choosing to work with, buy from, and support B Corps like Lem-uhn, you’re actively participating in a movement toward a better world—one where businesses care about more than just the bottom line.
